WEXFORD COUNTY, MI: On August 26 at approximately 1:50 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Cadillac Post responded to a threevehicle traffic crash on M-115 near South 45 Road in Clam Lake Township.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a box truck driven by a 36-year-old man from Inkster was traveling west on M-115 when it was struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe operated by a 19-year-old woman from LeRoy, who was traveling north on South 47 Road. This caused the box truck to spin out of control and overturn onto its side. The cab of the box truck was then struck by a pickup truck traveling east on M-115, driven by a 58-year-old man from Troy.
The 36-year-old driver of the box truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other individuals involved were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Troopers do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
Troopers were assisted by the MSP Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office, Wexford County Emergency Management, Cadillac City Fire Department, Peterson’s Towing, and Auto Solutions Towing.
