On 8-9-2025 Sault Ste Marie Police Department responded to a local hotel in reference to a possible overdose. A young man was found deceased at the scene along with several illicit Fentanyl pills along with other evidence. TRIDENT was requested to assist and started their investigation.
An autopsy was conducted which showed the cause of death to be acute Fentanyl poisoning.
These types of investigations are very time-consuming, complex, and require significant investigative effort. The dedication, persistence, and diligent work of the TRIDENT investigators over the course of this investigation were instrumental in bringing this case to its current resolution.
On 7-1-2026 the Chippewa Co Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in conjunction with TRIDENT Detectives and arrested the driver as a result of this death investigation.
ARRESTED:
Jarred Broderick Krull 25 yr old Bay Mills resident
1- Felony count- Delivery of Fentanyl causing Death
Mr. Krull was transported to Chippewa County Correctional Facility and lodged. Krull is innocent until proven guilty.
On 7-2-2026 Mr. Krull was arraigned in the 91st District court.
