GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI. On May 12, Joseph Osborne, 43, of Traverse City, was arrested
following an investigation into allegations that he used an electronic device to record a juvenile.
In February 2026, troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Traverse City Post began investigating
the allegations. The preliminary investigation indicated that Osborne utilized his cell phone to record a
juvenile in a private area of a home. Troopers submitted their findings to the Grand Traverse County
Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and charges were ultimately authorized.
Osborne was arraigned on May 12 in the 86 th District Court in Grand Traverse County on the following
charges:
• One count: Computers- Using a Computer to Commit a Crime
• Two counts: Capturing/Distributing Image of Unclothed Person.
Osborne was given a $25,000 cash or surety bond. He is due back in court on May 26 at 2:00 p.m.
