Traverse City Man Arrested for Assault After Road Rage Incident

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI. On May 14, a 36-year-old man from Traverse City, was arrested
following an investigation into an alleged assault that occurred in the Meijer parking lot in Grand Traverse
County.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on May 14, troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Traverse City Post
responded to Meijer for a reported assault. The preliminary investigation indicated that a road rage
incident occurred between the suspect and a 76-year-old man after the victim reportedly ran a stop sign
and cut the suspect off. Both individuals exited their vehicles, and an argument ensued. The suspect then allegedly pushed the victim to the ground before driving away. Troopers located the suspect a short time later and arrested him. He was lodged at the Grand Traverse County Jail.

The victim sustained a hip injury and a laceration to his hand.

The suspect’s identity will not be released until after arraignment.

Troopers were assisted by the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office.
