A 33-year-old driver who was rushed to hospital early this morning after a single-vehicle crash on North Street has died, police say.
The collision occurred around 3:20 a.m. near York Street. When officers arrived at the scene they found the driver with “life-threatening injuries.”
The unnamed motorist succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, according to a news release issued this afternoon by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
Police have not released the driver’s name or gender.

A portion of North Street was closed this morning for investigation but re-opened shortly after 9 a.m.
