Local Physician Sworn in As U.S. Naval Reservist

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.  On October 20, 2022, Major Bensson Samuel, U.S. Army Reserve (USAR), welcomed Lieutenant Commander Dan MacHue, Medical Corps, to the United States Navy Reserve during special swearing in ceremony. During the event held outside of MyMichigan Medical Center Sault, Kevin Kalchik, Medical Center president, welcomed those in attendance and recognized our long local history of honoring those that have served and how proud we are to have Dr. MacHue and Dr. Samuel as part of our medical staff. Lieutenant Commander MacHue served for seven years in the U.S. Navy and is starting his first year as a United States Naval Reservist. Major Samuel has been a Major in the USAR for three years. Both Major Samuel and Lieutenant Commander are physicians at MyMichigan Medical Center Sault providing inpatient care.

As part of his service obligation, Lieutenant Commander MacHue served seven years on active duty in the military and will embark on his next chapter of as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Naval Reserves.
