Deva Marie Babcock, 95, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away Tuesday May 3, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. She was born March 11, 1927 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late Joseph and Congetta (Gillotte) Poglese.
Deva and her husband Walter Babcock were married for 67 years. She was a member of the Christopher Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Family was everything to Deva. She loved spending summers at the family cabin in Brimley. She was also an avid reader.
Deva is survived by her daughters, Robin (Bob) Moody of Fort Pierce, FL, Cindy (Ralph) VanLuven, and Tracy (Mike) Bartlett both of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
Deva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Babcock; sisters, Carmena Swailes and Josie Jewell; and brother, Michael Poglese. A Memorial Service for close friends and family will take place this summer. Final resting place will be Riverside Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
