Marie Aline Carmel Morris

Marie Aline Carmel Morris, age 87, of Hessel, Michigan, died on January 6, 2022, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was born May 6, 1934, in New Brunswick, Canada, to Alexandre and Edith (Plourde) LaGrasse.

Aline grew up in Canada and after high school, moved to Walled Lake, Michigan, to live with her sister Jeannette. She married Russell Morris on November 24,1961, and they made their home in Milford, Michigan, then Cody, Wyoming, and lastly, Simmons Settlement North of Hessel, Michigan.

Aline loved sewing and flower gardening. She had a green thumb and a giant heart. She was a wonderful hostess who welcomed guests and loved to cook for them.

Aline is survived by her nephew, Gary O’Hearn and several other nieces and nephews. Although she had no natural children, she was mom to many and loved by all.

Aline is preceded in death by her husband, Russell; sisters, Jeannette, Dora, and Yvette; and brothers, Homer, Jack, Felix, and Roland.
