Josephine Ellen Bouvet

Josephine Ellen Bouvet age 96, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away at War Memorial Hospital on January 21, 2022.

Josephine was born on December 26, 1925, in Dafter, Michigan. She was the wife of Henry Bouvet, whom she married on November 23, 1944.

Josephine worked as a bookkeeper for Soo Creamery, Sault Area Schools, Richmond Industries in Ann Arbor, and retired from Soo Sheltered Workshop after 17 years.

She enjoyed sewing, baking, and entertaining friends. Josephine and Henry spent 14 winters in Florida after retiring. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, a board member of Child Evangelism Fellowship, and she worked in Awana.

She is survived by her son: Raymond H. (Linda) Bouvet; her son-in-law: Dale Walsh; five grandchildren: Christine (Steve) Ball, Lance (Kim) Walsh, Elizabeth (Jim) Brigham, Alison (Austin) Crawford, and Robin (Scott) Sorquist; eleven great grandchildren: Jacob and Emma Walsh, Mari and Jack Ball, Elise and Noah Brigham, Logan and Lincoln Crawford, and Josephine, Henry, and Walter Sorquist. She is also survived by her special nieces: Linda Curtis, Karen Boger, Arla Sutton, and Debbie Sutton.  

She was preceded in death by her husband: Henry Bouvet, her daughter: Bonnie Walsh; her parents: John and Agnes (Norton) Pesola; her brothers: James (Louise) Pesola and John (Lila) Pesola; and a special niece: Carolyn Dumback.

Private family funeral services will be held at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home.  A public graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens later this spring.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Calvary Baptist Church.
