Local man arrested for shots fired during domestic violence incident

On 7/3/21 at approximately 1425 hours, Chippewa County Sheriff Office responded to a report of a domestic assault involving a firearm with shots fired.

Victim reported that a Korey Nelson Lavigne, 47 yr old Bruce Twp resident, arrived at a residence located on 8 Mile road. After a brief confrontation with individuals at that house Lavigne left, and then returned.

Witnesses report that after returning, Lavigne, produced a hand gun and fired three shots, while threatening to kill the victim. One round was fired in the air, one in the proximity of the victim and he did fire one round at a side by side and did hit it. The side by side was unoccupied at the time.

Lavgine was arrested later that evening and lodged in the Chippewa Co Correctional Facility.

Lavigne was arraigned in 91st Dist Court on 7-6-2021 on the following charges:

  • Felonious assault
  • Felony Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon, W/intent
  • MDOP
  • Domestic Assault

Lavigne was given a $25,000 cash bond with tether and other restrictions. Lavigne is innocent until proven guilty.
