Catherine Ann “Cathy” McCready, age 64, of Cheboygan, Michigan passed away on Wednesday morning, April 28, 2021 in her home.
Cathy was a graduate of Dominican High School in Detroit, Michigan. She later graduated from Ferris State College with a dual degree in Accounting and in Paralegal Studies. On September 3, 1976 she married her husband Carl McCready Sr. Cathy loved her work at BKC Insurance in Cheboygan, and also thoroughly enjoyed spending her weekends by the water in Cedarville, Michigan.
Cathy was the loving mother of Carl (Mindy) McCready Jr of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, Caryn (Mark) Gilbert of Plainfield, Illinois, and Carrie McCready of Petoskey, Michigan. Beloved Grandmother to Alex, Chase, Brielle, and Kendall McCready and Noah, Eli, Carlie, and William Gilbert. Also survived by siblings Susan (John) Kamm, Debi (Mark) Wallis and Ann Marie (Dan) Durkin, many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, as well as Marilyn, Christine, and Cory McCready. Preceded in death by her parents Bill and Darlene Dellapa, Grandparents Stella and Aloysius Krezenski and Father-in-Law Roland McCready. Cathy was especially blessed by the care of long-time friends Tom and Lisa Smith and Eileen Damiano in the months leading up to her passing.
A private celebration of the life of Catherine will be planned for the family at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to the McClaren Hospitality House of Flint, Michigan.
