Leonard H. Valentine, 82, a lifetime resident of St. Ignace, passed away early Sunday morning, March 28, 2021. He was a loving husband to his childhood best friend, Sally (nee Hagen) Alexander Valentine, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and hunter/fisherman extraordinaire.
He was born October 19, 1938.
He served his country in the United States Army, and came back home to raise his family.
He was a faithful Catholic, and was loved for his sense of humor and care of family, friends, and neighbors.
He was a proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in St. Ignace with Father Frank Ricca officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of the service at the church.
Per Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions, face coverings are required, and no more than 75 people will be allowed in the church at any given time.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church.
