COVID Vaccination Clinic now open to 16 an older in Chippewa County

The mass vaccination clinic that’s being jointly hosted by Bay Mills Indian Community, War Memorial Hospital, Chippewa County Health Department, and Lake Superior State University on March 19th is expanding our eligibility criteria.

Our clinic is currently open to:

*Anyone 16 and older in Chippewa County

*Any 16/17 year old Tribal Member of any tribe, living in Michigan (must have a parent or guardian present for the vaccination)

*Lake Superior State University Students

*Anyone who has previously been eligible for this mass vaccination clinic (check Bay Mills Health Center’s Facebook for previous flyers)

The eligibility criteria is subject to change, so please be sure to check social media feeds of Bay Mills Health Center for more information, or the Chippewa County Health Department Website at: https://www.chippewahd.com/

If you, or anyone you know, is eligible and interested in signing up, please follow this link:  https://forms.gle/oGk7iLawRAzQJtVz7 (please only complete the form once per person – duplication of registration is taking a time slot away from someone else who is interested in receiving the vaccine!)

**If you or someone you know is interested but unable to make their appointment reservation online, please have them call (906)248-8368 and leave a message with their name, date of birth, and phone number for a return phone call.

Please also spread the word about this vaccination clinic, and please feel free to forward this email to others who can help spread the word of this vaccination clinic. I have included the PDF so that you can print and show in your facilities, and also able to share the JPEG on your associated social media channels. We have intentionally opened the vaccinations to any Tribal Member (regardless of tribe) who is 16 or 17, because the Pfizer vaccine is approved for 16 years and up, and we have a vested interest in helping share this precious resource to other community members who may not have previously had access.

We have a large volume of vaccines to administer, and we don’t want to have to attempt to continue storage of this vaccine. Bay Mills has an estimated 1,170 doses to administer, and War Memorial has the same amount to administer, and we’re jointly hosting this mass vaccination clinic to efficiently and effectively disperse this valuable vaccine. The more people who are vaccinated, the more protected our whole county, region, and state will be.

Anyone who signs up for this vaccination clinic will need to be sure to be at the LSSU Norris Center on March 19th at the time that is selected during the registration. As this is such a large clinic, we are not able to provide follow up calls as we normally would – the individuals will need to be sure to
