The melting snow reveals many things that have been buried since the fall. You may find that leaf rake that you’ve been looking for. The kids will realize that they have more toys than they thought. And, the dog will be happy thinking she has new toys to play with.
Unfortunately, the melting snow also exposes used syringes that have been carelessly discarded.
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Department reminds everyone not to touch a found syringe. Tell your children that if they see any to stay clear and let an adult know. Call Central Dispatch at 906-495-3312 to have an officer dispatched to pick them up. Give the dispatcher the best location you can as these are difficult to spot, especially in an open area. We want everyone to safely enjoy the upcoming spring.
