Margaret Ann Seaman

Margaret Ann Seaman (Wyckoff) passed away peacefully in her home on March 23rd surrounded by her family.

Peggy (as she liked to be called) was born to Harry and Maxine Wyckoff in 1946. She grew up in Pickerington, Ohio, spending her summers on Drummond Island, Michigan. While growing up in Ohio, Peggy enjoyed her childhood, spending a lot of time on her grandparent’s farm. Alongside Ernest and Bertha Handshey, she helped to raise many crops and critters.

Upon graduating from Pickerington High School in 1964, Peggy married Kenneth Seaman of Drummond Island. Ken was enlisted in the Army and they lived in Washington State during his service. When Ken’s Army Service ended, they moved to Drummond Island and operated a resort in the Maxton area. Ken and Peggy had three children; Crystal Kaye Seaman, Kenneth Kevin Seaman, and Floyd Ernest Seaman.

Peggy was also married to Vernon Edward Seaman, and together they had one daughter, Ingrid Nicole (Seaman) Call. They lived in Cheboygan, Michigan together, where Peggy owned and operated a hair salon.

Later in life, Peggy loved living on Drummond Island, and enjoyed playing the piano for family and friends. She loved music and sharing the love of it with everyone, including her Aunt Lily.

Most of all, Peggy loved children and Christmas. She decorated her home, both inside and out, to celebrate the Holiday Season. Her property was “decked out” for one and all to see. Her lights shown bright, and her neighbors joked that their lights dimmed when she turned hers on. Peggy also enjoyed all the wildlife her area had to offer. She fed the deer and birds daily.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Maxine Wyckoff, and her daughter Crystal Kaye Seaman.

Peggy is survived by her brother, Kenneth (Linda) Wyckoff; her children, Kenneth Kevin Seaman, Floyd Ernest Seaman (Wendy), and Ingrid Nicole Call (Art). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Michele (Matt) Robinson, Brant Seaman, Whitney Seaman, Amanda (Hunter) Rains, Jason Seaman, Joe (Shelia) Seaman, Pearl Seaman, Chelsea Plowman, Finnley Call, and Gracen Call; along with great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A private service in her honor will be held with her family. Burial will take place at the Drummond Island Cemetery.

R. Galer Funeral Home in Pickford, Michigan is serving the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.rgalerfuneralhome.com.
