Yvonne Katheryn (Fehner) Fike, age 62, of Dafter, Michigan, died on May 10, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Sault. She was born on August 3, 1963, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Jay Lawrence and Dorothy Ann (Jurewicz) Fehner.

Yvonne grew up in Raber, Michigan, where she worked alongside her siblings on the family farm. Whether she was gardening, canning, driving the tractor, or baling hay, she developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for family from an early age. She graduated from DeTour High School with the Class of 1981 and later became a nurse’s aide, working at Brinks Assisted Living, now known as Hearthside Assisted Living.

Later, while employed at a local gas station, Yvonne met the love of her life, Robert “Gary” Fike, had a wonderful marriage for thirty-seven years, and during this time together they built a loving family. Over the years, Yvonne held several positions throughout the community, working at Glen’s Market, Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie, Bay Mills Resort & Casino in Brimley, and eventually Walmart, where she worked as a retail clerk until her retirement.

Yvonne was a devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brimley, Michigan.

Yvonne especially enjoyed using her computer to play Backgammon as well as other games on the Pogo website. Lilacs were her favorite flower, and she took great pride in caring for her flower beds. Yvonne liked to read, play board/card games, do jigsaw puzzles and word searches. Above all else, Yvonne treasured the time she spent with her beloved grandson, her pride and joy, Nicholas, “Nicky,” or “Snickerdoodles,” as she lovingly called him.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Robert “Gary” Fike; children, Twyla (Nathan) Niznik and Christopher “Chris” Fike, both of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; step-son, Robert Fike of Traverse City, Michigan; grandchildren, Nicholas Fike, Valerie Niznik, and Vincent Niznik; siblings, Roberta (Edwin) Bailey of St. Johns, Michigan, Karen Hudie of Raber, Michigan, John Fehner of Pickford, Michigan, and Jay Fehner of Raber; special cousin, Sandra (Tim) McCotter of Brighton, Michigan; brother-in-law, Thomas Tellefsen of San Tan Valley, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Elvera Campeau of Brimley and Lydia “Teenie” Bedunah of Charlotte, Michigan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Dorothy; sister, Rosanne Tellefsen; brother, Gregory Fehner; sisters-in-law, Jan Fehner and Glenda Opolka; and brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Hudie.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in 6769 M-221, Brimley, MI 49715, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Raco, Michigan.
