Russell John Andrews, age 69, of Barbeau, Michigan, died on June 23, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on August 29, 1956, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Clarence Robert and Alice Carolyn (Gregg) Andrews.

Russell grew up in Barbeau and graduated from Sault Area High School with the class of 1974. Following graduation, he worked at a service station before attending trade school and becoming a union plumber.

Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to oldies music, and watching cooking shows to further refine his already impressive culinary skills. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. He especially looked forward to his weekly cribbage games with his dear friend, Larry Bergstrom.

Russell is survived by his daughter, Kristina Andrews of Ubly, Michigan; grandchildren, Kylee (Brandon) Nuncio, and Cavalier Essenmacher; great-grandchildren, Steven Irvine, Luca Nuncio, and Isabella Nuncio; mother, Alice Andrew; sisters, Linda Bensinger of Badaxe, Michigan, and Betty Graham of Applegate, Wisconsin; and brother, Robert Andrews of Barbeau.

Russell was preceded in death by his children, Amanda Andrews, Ethan Andrews, and Cory Andrews; granddaughter, Bethany Mullins; father, Clarence; brothers-in-law, Harry Bensinger and Joseph Graham; and late wife, Sherry Bensinger.

Per Russell’s wishes, no services are being held.
