Roger Eugene Kamper, age 61, of Rudyard, Michigan, died on June 5, 2026, after a prolonged stay at Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace, Michigan, and Medilodge of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born on October 28, 1964, in St. Ignace to James and Margaret (Ploegstra) Kamper.

Roger was adopted as an infant by James and Margaret and was raised in a loving family. Throughout his life, he maintained a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit that brought smiles to those around him. Roger had a deep appreciation for John Deere tractors, Peterbilt semi-trucks, and farming. He also enjoyed watching sports and was never shy about sharing his thoughts and commentary on the games and teams he followed.

Roger is survived by his siblings, Mervin (Becky) Kamper, Dennis (Myrna) Kamper, Jo (Gary) De Vries, and Andy (Karen) Kamper; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret; and sister, Donna (Arnie) Meyer.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 5:30 PM at Rudyard Christian Reformed Church, 17970 S. Tilson Road, Rudyard, MI 49780.

Roger’s final resting place will be at North Rudyard Cemetery, in Rudyard, Michigan.
