Obituaries

Robert “Bob” Leonard Parrish, age 90, of Bay Mills, Michigan, died at his home on Sunday, August 2, 2026. He was born on December 27, 1935, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Clarence and June (Carrick) Parrish.

Bob grew up in Bay Mills and graduated from Brimley High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he was stationed at Camp Pendleton during the Korean War. After returning home from military service, he married Irma Cameron, and together they raised their family. Throughout his life, Bob held many jobs that he enjoyed, but he was most proud of the Parrish Fish Store, which he established with his sons.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Lynda (Jason) Pesola of Brimley, Michigan; son, Rory Parrish of Bay Mills; grandchildren, Eric (Lisa) Burtt of Traverse City, Michigan, Rachel Lyons of Brimley, Robert Burtt of Bay Mills, Tara (Dennis) Parrish of Sault Ste. Marie, and Brook Pesola of Brimley; great-grandchildren, Eve, Matthew, Andrew, Burtt, Quentin and Neva Lyons, as well as the two whose names he could never remember, so he affectionately called them “#1” and “#2”: #1 Shiloh Dutcher and #2 Delicia Sparks.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Irma; daughter, Lorri Burtt; and sons, Robert Parrish Jr, Roger and Richard Parrish; and parents, Clarence and June.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 12014 W. Lakeshore Dr, Brimley, MI 49715. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 3:00 PM.

Bob’s final resting place will be at Mission Hill Cemetery in Brimley, Michigan.
