Obituaries

With deep love, we announce the passing of Robert Alan Dorman, age 65, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Born in Lansing, Michigan, on October 19, 1960, to Charles Robert Dorman Jr. and Revaleen (Craft) Dorman, Robert was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, and steadfast friend.

Robert’s love was felt in every hug, every home video he captured, every story he shared, and every long phone call he made simply to check in. He took pleasure in good conversation, quick wit, and the gentle, playful teasing that made everyone laugh.

The outdoors was his sanctuary. Whether hunting at dawn or casting a line at sunset, he lived for the moments he shared with family and friends. Seeing their joy filled him with a light that could not be dimmed when they found a mushroom, caught a fish, or harvested a buck. Those days together were his greatest gift to us.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of forty-three years, LaRae Dorman; his daughter, Ranae (Clint) Connor; his son, Andrew (Ashly) Dorman; and his grandchildren Logan Connor, Adison Dorman, Aleah Dorman, and Anden Dorman. He was deeply loved by his siblings, Rhonda (Jim Clark) Ryan, Jeff McCloud, Ruth (Scott) Andres, Raymond (Joanne) Dorman, Ralph (Nancy Shaver) Dorman, Rose (Mark) Schultz, and Rebecca Dorman, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Robin McCloud and Roberta (Bert) Warren; and his brother, Ronald Dorman.

Robert will be remembered for his laughter, his generous heart, and the dependable presence he brought to the lives of those who knew him. His memory will remain a guiding light, offering comfort, inspiration, and a reminder to love deeply and live fully, as he did.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Drummond Island Township Hall, 29935 E. Pine St., Drummond, MI 49726.
