Obituaries

Richard Noel DeMolen, age 78, of Pickford, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on May 13, 2026. He was born on November 28, 1947, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Henry and Joan (Wood-Salomon) DeMolen.

Richard graduated from Sault Area High School with the Class of 1967 and later continued his education, earning his Ph.D. in Psychology.

A gifted musician, Richard spent many years playing keyboard and singing in bands, entertaining countless people with his remarkable talent. He also loved fishing and took special pride in crafting his own handmade lures.

Richard retired from the State of North Dakota after living and working in many different states before returning to Michigan to be closer to family.

Richard is survived by his wife of four years, Beverly McBride-DeMolen; sons, Jacques (Sally) DeMolen of Brimley, Michigan, and Grant DeMolen of Sault Ste. Marie; daughters, Mary (Jamie Zeppa) Mignacca and Lorie (Brian) Bellini, both of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; grandchildren, Jade DeMolen, Alyssa DeMolen, Jacob DeMolen, Justin DeMolen, Joel DeMolen, Taylor (Mick) Fartoretto, and Steven Bellini; and great-grandchildren, Bechett Fartoretto and Bowan Fartoretto.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Joan; and his beloved wife, Valerie, who was the love of his life.

A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
