Obituary For Pamela Marie Hill
With full hearts and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Pamela Marie Hill, who passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 64. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Pamela lived a life defined by compassion, connection, and joy.
Pamela was born on March 12, 1961, to James and Gladys Ellis and she was a lifelong resident of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Her early years in the restaurant industry revealed her natural gift for connecting with people through warmth, humor, and genuine care. She later embarked on a meaningful career with Cellular Connection and other businesses, always leaving behind a trail of bright smiles and lasting friendships.
Pamela, a truly sassy soul with a heart of gold, she never met a stranger—only knew friends. She had a passion for baking and was especially talented at decorating cakes. She also enjoyed sewing and was always trying new recipes in the kitchen, adding her own creative touch to every dish. Pamela treasured family reunions and gatherings, enjoyed shopping trips, long coffee chats with her friends, and had a deep love for animals, especially her own.
Pamela is lovingly remembered by her children, Anne Ellis (Jim Sherbrook), Michelle Ellis (Mark Ringler), and Justin Romano; grandchildren, Raquel, Bryce, Keldon, Max, Jack, and Blake; her beloved great-grandchildren, Emma and Kohen; siblings, James Ellis and Scott Ellis; in-laws, Scott (Terri) Hill and Sheryl (Scott) Runkle; and many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pamela was preceded in death by her devoted husband, George Hill; parents, James and Gladys Ellis; siblings, Mary and BJ; and in-laws, George and Anna Hill.
Pamela’s generosity extended beyond her life—she was an organ donor, a final gift of hope and healing for two recipients. After an initial stroke in March 2025, she was lovingly cared for by the compassionate staff at MyMichigan Medical Center’s Long Term Care unit in Sault Ste. Marie. Throughout her time there, Pamela’s spirit remained bright and hopeful, inspiring those around her with her resilience and joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Fundamental Baptist Church, 3255 M-80 Kinross, MI 49752. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. with service beginning at 11:30 A.M., followed by a luncheon and graveside service. All who knew Pamela are warmly welcomed to join in honoring her remarkable life and the love she shared so freely.
