Obituaries

Michael Anthony Perault “Mikin Minis”, age 62, of St. Ignace, Michigan, walked on Thursday, August 20, 2026. He was born on January 9, 1964, on Mackinac Island, Michigan, to Deward S. Perrault and Marcella M. Keller.

Michael was half-blood Mackinac Band Ojibwe/Ottawa and a lifelong member since the Tribe’s inception. He loved to fish and hunt and was an avid stone collector and artist.

Michael was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a missile silo technician in Germany near the Russian border.

Michael worked in maintenance at Silver Sands Resort for 20 years.

He had a great love for motorcycles, of which he owned many. He loved riding with family and friends. A memorial ride is being planned with the Red Rum Motorcycle Club.

This tragedy has struck Michael’s family and friends deeply. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his son, Anthony Perault of Mancelona, Michigan; daughter, Summer Rain Perault of Camby, Indiana; four brothers, Deward “Chip” Perault and John “Jaabet” Perault, both of St. Ignace, Gordon Perault of Mancelona; and William Perault of St. Ignace; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Deward and Marcella.

A graveside burial will take place on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 2:30 PM at St. Anne’s Cemetery on Mackinac Island, Michigan. An additional burial will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2026, at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Cross Village, Michigan. Please contact the Perault family for the time and additional information regarding the Cross Village burial.
