Linda Lee (Hunter) Parker, age 85, of Hessel, Michigan, and formerly of Iowa City, Iowa, died on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Straits Area Senior Living Center in St. Ignace, Michigan. She was born on December 28, 1940, in Fithian, Illinois, to Ralph Leslie and Juanita “Honey” Pauline (Sperry) Hunter.

Linda grew up in Portage Lake, Michigan, and graduated from Dexter High School with the Class of 1959. She spent most of her life in Iowa but returned each summer to vacation in Michigan’s Eastern Upper Peninsula, a tradition she enjoyed for nearly forty years. In 2020, she made Hessel her home to be closer to her daughters.

Linda enjoyed shopping, decorating her home, sewing, and crocheting. She found peace tending to her flower garden and looked forward to traveling whenever she had the opportunity. A devoted fan of the University of Iowa football, she rarely missed a game. Above all, Linda was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by daughters, Michelle (Mark Fenlon) Hoey of Hessel, Michigan, and Joyce (Rob) Anderson of Drummond Island, Michigan; son, Jim (Denise) Parker of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; daughter, Suzy Parker of Franklin, Tennessee; grandchildren, Tyler (Katie) Anderson, Alyssa (Shane) Viilo, Colton Bucht, Roxanne Parker, Birdie Parker and Jasmine Parker; great-grandchildren, Cassie Anderson, Zoe Anderson, Joseph Viilo and Jace Viilo; and sister, Barb (Ken) Hall of New Haven, Indiana.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Norm Parker; infant son, James Hoey, son, Jeff Parker; parents, Ralph and Honey Hunter; and sister, Ginger Parker.

A Celebration of the Life will be held at a later date.

Linda’s final resting place will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chelsea, Michigan.
