Obituary For Jeffrey Alan Sindles

Jeffrey Alan Sindles, age 60, of Trout Lake, Michigan, died on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Mackinac Straits Health System in St. Ignace, Michigan. He was born November 11, 1965, in Libertyville, Illinois, to Edward and Rosemary (Krieman) Sindles.

Jeff grew up in Mundelein and Antioch, Illinois, and graduated from Mundelein High School. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force before returning home and joining his father’s company, Ed’s Tree Service. In 1988, Jeff took over the business and renamed it “Just Stumps,” continuing to build the company through years of hard work and dedication. In 2018, he sold the business and began a new chapter of his life.

Jeff met the love of his life, Laura Zaremba, while they were in high school. Although life took them in different directions, the two reconnected in 1998 and quickly found their way back to one another. They were married on March 19, 2000, in Las Vegas, Navada, and shared many wonderful years together. In 2019, Jeff and Laura made the move to Trout Lake, where they continued building their life together.

Retirement never quite suited Jeff, as he was never one to sit still for very long. Even after selling his business, he continued taking on various handyman jobs, always finding something to fix, build, or improve. Jeff enjoyed staying busy and could often be found tinkering around the yard or garage, working on one project or another.

Jeff had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, and rock hunting with Laura and his mother-in-law, Linda. He also enjoyed gardening and working around the yard. There was rarely a time when Jeff wasn't doing something with his hands.

When he finally did slow down, Jeff enjoyed relaxing in front of the television. He especially loved zombie movies, HGTV, and a good game show. Above all, Jeff had a special love for his dogs, who brought him endless companionship and joy.

Jeff will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of the outdoors, his willingness to lend a hand, and the many ways he kept himself busy throughout his life.

Jeff always put his family above all else. He adored his wife, children, and granddaughter.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Laura Sindles of Trout Lake; children, Jonathan (Kathryne) Muellemann of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Sabrina (Mart Myers) Muellemann of Kenosha, and Adam (Becca) Sindles of Trout Lake; grandchildren, Vada Lynn Sindles and one on the way, Raven Kay Sindles; niece and nephews, Jack Allgood, Jessica (Leo Flaig) Allgood, and Ben Guthrie; sister-in-law, Tammy (Bill) Guthrie of Kenosha; brothers, sisters, and extended family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Rosemary; brothers, Ricky Sindles, Randy Sindles, and Dean Sindles; father-in-law, Thomas Zaremba; and nephew, Michael Jannotta.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Trout Lake Township Center, 32686 W H-40, Trout Lake, MI 49793.
