Geraldine Bourne, age 72, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on October 23, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Sault Ste. Marie. She was born on July 2, 1954, in Sault Ste. Marie, to Alvin and Helen (Oga) Fish.

Geraldine was a funny, strong, caring, and wonderfully stubborn woman who held a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Above all, she was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma, whose love for her family was an important part of who she was.

Some of Geraldine’s happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, sharing laughter, celebrating holidays, crafting, and playing cards. She treasured family gatherings and the simple joy of being together. Her humor, strength, caring heart, and unmistakable stubbornness were all part of what made her uniquely herself. The memories made around the table, during the holidays, and in everyday moments will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who loved her.

Geraldine leaves behind her beloved husband of fifty-four years, David Bourne Sr.; children, David Bourne Jr., John Bourne, Linda Smith, Roy Bourne, and Joshua Bourne; siblings, Sandra Hall, Betty Gravelle, Deanna Ryder, Nancy Cook, Richard Fish, Rodney Fish, Ethel LaBranche, Marjorie Jones, Tina Fish, and Sherri Brussveen; along with a vast and close-knit network of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who meant the world to her.

Geraldine was a proud grandmother of ten grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother of seven. Her family was an important part of her life, and the love she shared across generations will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Helen; siblings, Virginia “Tookie” Brommerich, Helen “Datsy” Fish, Alfred “Wayne” Fish, Larry Fish, and William Fish; and granddaughters, Ashley Feuerborn and Baby A.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Geraldine on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Niigaanagiizhik Ceremonial Building, 11 Ice Circle, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. Memorial Gathering will begin at 11:00 AM, followed immediately by Memorial Services at 11:45 AM. Family and friends are invited to remain at the building to gather for lunch and fellowship at 1:15 PM.

A burial at Mission Hill Cemetery will take place on Sunday, November 8, 2026, with immediate family.

Geraldine will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
