Obituary For Daniel Joseph Killips
Daniel Joseph Killips, age 64, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, went with his creator on August 25, 2026, at the Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie. He was born on August 29, 1961, in Sault Ste. Marie, to David Eugene and Victoria (Simon) Killips.
“To boldly go… where no man has gone before.” Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Navy, carrying that same sense of adventure throughout his life. He held many different jobs over the years. He truly enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life, sharing conversations, and making connections with those he encountered along the way.
Daniel was a proud member of Thessalon First Nation.
Daniel enjoyed sharing his hobbies with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He had a passion for collecting cars, airplanes, and rockets, and took great pride in putting together and painting his collection. His favorite color was blue, although he also had a fondness for green and red.
Daniel loved listening to music, he especially loved chillin to SADE and Whitney Houston, which were among his favorite artists. He also enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews to the theater to see the latest movies.
Daniel enjoyed walking along the beach, riding his bike, and taking road trips. He also loved looking up at the stars, especially through his telescope, and believed in the possibilities that existed beyond mankind's understanding. He had a special love for Star Wars and Star Trek, which reflected his fascination with the universe and all that lay beyond it.
He also had a deep love and respect for animals, especially his cat, Mr. Kitty.
Daniel is survived by his sister, Deborah Barnett; brother, Chester Killips; nieces, Shauna Woodbury, Leanna Woodbury, and Amanda Bradley; and nephews, Chris Killips, and Joshua Barnett.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Victoria and David; sister, Yvonne Woodbury; brother, Ron Killips; and nephew, Mike Killips.
