Bernard “Bernie” Fredrick Roy, age 40, of Kincheloe, Michigan, passed away on June 15, 2026. He was born on April 4, 1986, in Toledo, Ohio, to Geoffrey Michael Patman and Kellie Sue (Roy) Parker.

Bernie spent much of his childhood growing up on Sugar Island, Michigan, a place that always held a special place in his heart. He loved the island life, its natural beauty, and the many memories he made there throughout the years.

Bernie was a hardworking and dedicated employee of Great Lakes Roofing, where he took pride in his work and was known for always giving his best effort. He was the kind of person who was always ready for the next adventure and enjoyed making the most of life.

He loved riding, kayaking, tinkering, and being with friends and family. Whether he was helping someone with a project, exploring the outdoors, or simply enjoying time with loved ones, Bernie's adventurous spirit and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on those around him.

Bernie is survived by his beloved children, Hailey Shea Hiatt, Koal Alan Roy, Alec Caine Roy, and Geoffrey Fredrick Roy; his parents, Geoffrey Michael Patman and Kellie Sue (Roy) Parker; and his siblings, Phillip Roy, Matthew Roy, and Kathleen Roy.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Marjorie Roy; and paternal grandparents, John and Kathleen Patman.

Bernie will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of adventure, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Per Bernie’s wishes, no services are being held.
