Obituaries

Allen John Demroske, age 96, of Brimley, Michigan, died on Friday, February 13, 2026. He was born on December 21, 1929, in South Bend, Indiana, to Anthony and Margaret (Zakrzewski) Demroske.

Allen was a proud Korean War veteran who arrived in Korea in March 1951. Assigned to frontline duty as an infantryman with C-15, he served with courage and distinction. For his bravery and sacrifice, he earned the Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon, a Battle Star, and the Purple Heart.

Known to generations of students as “Mr. D,” he began his career at Brimley High School in 1967. Over the years, he taught biology and physical science, along with U.S. History and junior high life science. In addition to his work in the classroom, he dedicated himself to coaching, first football, and later junior high girls’ basketball, mentoring countless students both academically and athletically.

Allen is survived by his wife, Mary (Coesens) Demroske; daughter, Regina Marchetti; and grandson, Matthew Marchetti.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Margaret.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Brimley Area Schools Cafeteria, 7134 M-221, Brimley, MI 49715.
