Hit the trails during Free ORV Weekend, Aug. 15-16

On two back-to-back days, residents and out-of-state visitors can legally ride Michigan’s 4,000 miles of off-road vehicle trails, routes and six scramble areas without an ORV license or trail permit.

Before you hit the trails for the Aug. 15-16 event, keep these important reminders in mind:

• All other ORV laws and regulations still apply.
• A Recreation Passport is required where applicable.
• Riders must provide their own ORV.
• Holly Oaks ORV Park in Oakland County will waive its usual entrance fee during Free ORV Weekend. A Recreation Passport is not required at the park.
• Do your part to help prevent the spread of invasive species by cleaning mud and plant material from your ORV, trailer and gear.
