Chippewa County, Michigan. Troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Sault Ste. Marie
Post arrested a man in Kincheloe after he allegedly stole a vehicle in Green Bay, Wisconsin,
and kidnapped an individual at knifepoint.

On June 9, 2026, troopers were contacted by the Green Bay (WI) Police Department informing
them that a suspect had stolen a vehicle in the Green Bay area and was believed to be traveling
to the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Troopers located the vehicle on M-28 near M-221 after it had broken down. However, the
suspect was not with the vehicle. A short time later, troopers were dispatched to Kincheloe after
an individual ran into the Dollar General and asked the cashier to call 911 because he had been
kidnapped. Troopers responded to the Kincheloe area and located the suspect inside the Pizza
Patch restaurant. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the
Chippewa County Jail.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had allegedly stolen the vehicle and told his adult
male roommate to get into the car. Once inside the car, the suspect allegedly produced a knife
and threatened to harm the roommate unless he went with him to Michigan. The two traveled
from Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Chippewa County. After the vehicle broke down, they reportedly
hitchhiked to Kincheloe.
