PARADISE, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $3.1 million to rebuild M-123 in Paradise, Chippewa County. The project includes partial crushing and shaping of the existing pavement, asphalt repaving with wide shoulders for an ORV connector trail, and improved stormwater infrastructure. A Transportation Alternatives Grant will fund a paved shared-use path, concrete sidewalk, crosswalks and lighting.
Motorists should expect single-lane closures with temporary traffic signals and traffic regulators. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place during the project.
This work will extend the lifespan of the roadway and increase safety for motorists. The shared-use path will also increase safety for nonmotorized users.
