Central Savings Bank CEO wins Michigan bankers’ top honor for 2026

LANSING – The Michigan Bankers Association (MBA) recognizes Mark R. Savoie, President and CEO, Central Savings Bank, as the recipient of the esteemed 2026 MBA Banker of the Year award.

The MBA Board of Directors selected Savoie for this prestigious honor in recognition of his dedication to the MBA, significant contributions to the banking industry, and commitment to community service. Under his leadership, Central Savings Bank has achieved remarkable success, earning recognition as Michigan’s top-performing bank under $2 billion in assets and one of the top 20 banks nationwide, according to American Banker Magazine (June 2024).

His leadership has driven Central Savings Bank’s continued success and growth, a testament to his commitment and forward-thinking vision.”

With over 30 years of experience in banking, Savoie has been actively involved in the MBA, serving on the Board of Directors, participating in the New CEO Peer Group, and contributing to the Grassroots Advocacy Committee. He has also been a dedicated advocate for the industry, attending the Washington D.C. Summit to represent Michigan bankers on a national level. Beyond banking, Savoie is deeply committed to community service. He has held leadership roles at St. Mary’s School, Lake Superior State University, the Public Employees of Sault Ste. Marie Health Care Investment Board, the Elks Club, and the Early Childhood Investment Corporation State of Michigan Board. Additionally, he serves on the local and state boards of My Michigan Health and is a member of the Central Savings Bank Board of Directors.
