City of Sault Ste. Marie Seasonal Load and Speed Restrictions

Sault Ste. Marie, MI — Effective at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9th, Seasonal Load
and Speed Restrictions will be imposed on all City Streets. This will apply to all City
Streets except for the following streets which are designated as All-Season Routes:

• West Easterday Avenue – West 12th Street to Meridian Street
• East Easterday Avenue – From Ashmun Street to East Spruce Street
• Ord Street – From East Spruce Street to Portage Avenue
• Meridian Street – From West Easterday to I-75 Business Spur
• Three Mile Road – From M-129 to West 20th Street
  
  Seasonal permits may be purchased via Oxcart Permitting System. Please call the City
  Engineering Department with any questions at (906) 632-5732. The most current version
  of the City’s Truck Route can be found on the Engineering Dept Website.
  
  Transport Permit Fees
  A. Individual Oversize $30.00*
  B. Individual Oversize / Overweight $200.00
  C. Annual Oversize $100.00*
  D. Overweight During Frost Restrictions (One delivery) $400.00
  E. Local Overweight During Frost Restrictions (Seasonal) $600.00
  F. Administration / Investigation Fee for Transporting
  Overweight or Oversize without a permit $500.00 plus damages
  *Plus costs incurred by the City for labor, equipment & materials as applicable.
