SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Lake Superior State University volleyball program is set to play two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) matches this weekend. The first match will see the Lakers host the Pride of Purdue Northwest at Bud Cooper Gymnasium, on Friday, Oct. 21 for Great Lake State Weekend, and they will then travel to face the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals on the very next day.
The Pride have won their last two matches and currently hold an overall record of 8-14. Arra Cottrel is the current leader in kills (154), averaging 2.05 kills per set. Two members of the Pride have also reached at least 225 assists on the season.
The Cardinals boast an overall record of 10-12, with a 5-6 mark in GLIAC play. Three different players have eclipsed 200 kills. Meanwhile, two Cardinals have at least 300 digs while two others have surpassed 100 total blocks on the defensive end.
