William “Willie” Joseph Landreville, age 57, died on April 18, 2025. He was born on April 18, 1968, in Coldwater, Michigan, to Claude and Alice (Homminga) Landreville.

Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Willie attended special education and spent much of his life bringing joy to those around him with his friendly nature and vibrant spirit. He lived with his devoted mother, Alice, until her passing, after which he was lovingly cared for by family and eventually found a new home and support system at Pleasant View AFC.

Willie was a proud participant in the Special Olympics, where he especially loved bowling. He had a passion for music (Garth Brooks was his favorite) and he never missed a chance to sing along. A true people-person, Willie thrived in social settings and enjoyed being out in the community, making connections wherever he went. Willie’s warmth, enthusiasm, and sense of fun will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Willie had a few favorite things that always brought a smile to his face: pizza, Coca-Cola, bowling nights, and anything related to Batman. Willie was a devoted collector of Batman memorabilia and was never without something that showed his love for the Caped Crusader.

Willie is survived by his siblings, Robert Landreville of Sault Ste. Marie, Claude Landreville of Traverse City, Michigan, Donny Homminga of Sault Ste. Marie, Frank Landreville, and Mary Tasker.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Alice; brothers, Cordell Landreville, George Landreville, and Henry Landreville.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Family Life Funeral Homes, 4951 S. M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, MI, 49783, from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 PM.

Willie’s final resting place will be at the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Bruce Township, Michigan.
