Obituary For Stanley Robert Krackowski, Jr

Stanley Robert “Bob” Krackowski Jr., age 64, of Hessel, Michigan, died on September 13, 2025, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan. He was born on September 3, 1961, in Wurzburg, Germany, to Stanley Sr. and Haupevon “Ann” (Blackmon) Krackowski.

Bob grew up as a proud “military brat”, traveling with his family and experiencing life in many different places. Along the way, he developed a strong appreciation for family, adventure, and hard work. He met the love of his life, Sonja Finley, in Auburndale, Florida, in a moment that could only be described as fate - she stopped him in the street to give him a birthday kiss. It was love at first sight, and just five months later, they were married. Together they shared thirty-nine wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Of all his accomplishments, Bob was proudest of raising their two children, who were the center of his world.

Bob worked as a mechanic and truly loved his profession. He was known for his skill, dedication, and his willingness to help others. When not working, his favorite place to be was Search Bay. Bob enjoyed camping there with his family, listening to music, and soaking in the joy of simply being together.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sonja Krackowski; daughter, Monica Krackowski of Hessel; son, Stanley Krackowski III of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; mother, Ann Krackowski; sister, Rene (Mike) Bieganowski; nieces and nephews, Amy Bieganowski, Audrie (Ryan) Chapin, Nicole (Bryan) Basenback, and Adam (Tiffany) Bieganowski; great-nephews, Maxwell Basenback, Roland Basenback, and Leander Basenback; and aunts and uncles, Rocky Koenig, Sandy Garrard, Marsha Kersey, Ronda Finley, Larry Finley, and Rodney Finley.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Sr.; sister, Theresa Krackowski; and grandmother, Josephine Geleski.

“We will love you forever, now there’s a broken chain. We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. You did not go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.” – Mom.

Per Bob’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
