Ruth Ann LaJoie, age 81, of Bruce Township, Michigan, passed away at home surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born on July 5, 1942, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late Norman and Margaret (Andrews) Avery. Ruth was a graduate of Sault High School with the class of 1960. She married Bernard LaJoie on January 21, 1961, at the Sault Wesleyan Church. Ruth worked for many years as the treasurer for Bruce Township. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, shopping, and horses. Ruth was known for baking "the best" bread.

Ruth is survived by her husband: Bernie LaJoie; three sons: Timothy (Amy) LaJoie of Dafter, MI, Kenneth (Michelle) LaJoie of Marquette, MI, and Russell (Emily) LaJoie of Grand Rapids, MI; nine grandchildren: Brandon, Nathan, Adam, John, Laura, Allie, Kaden, Avery, and Sam; and one great grandchild: Mazie. Ruth is also survived by her brother: Carl (Bev) Avery of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Russell and William Avery.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 17, 2023, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Pastor Lon Mohr officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. The burial will be at Donaldson Cemetery.
