Obituary For Rose Marie Taylor-Anderson

Rose Marie Taylor-Anderson, age 73, of Mackinaw City, Michigan, died at her home, surrounded by loved ones on June 20, 2023. She was born in Mackinaw City on May 21, 1950, to Carl and Alice (Forgette) Taylor.

Rose was one of thirteen siblings and grew up in Mackinaw City, where she graduated from Mackinaw City High School in 1968, and recently celebrated her 55th class reunion with some of her classmates. She worked in the Mackinaw City area for more than 50 years. She met Andrew Anderson, and they were married on July 4, 1991, in Traverse City, Michigan.

Rose was an active volunteer at the Church of the Straits food pantry in Mackinaw City.

Rose was a considerate and friendly person to know. She enjoyed reading, playing her piano, working on puzzles, and baking, especially anything chocolate! She was adventurous and fun, traveling through the Panama Canal, whale watching in Alaska, she rode a narrow-gauge railroad in Costa Rica, attended a Hawaiian Luau, and stood in front of the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas, Nevada. She also loved nature and couldn’t wait for spring for the geese and loons' arrival at the lake and feeding the orioles and hummingbirds.

Rose was a faithful and generous daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend.

Rose is survived by her husband, Andrew Anderson of Mackinaw City, and daughter, Amanda Anderson of Mackinaw City.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Alice.
