Rochelle Madeline (Bourque) Benoit, age 85, died on May 10, 2025, at Hearthside Assisted Living in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was born on January 1, 1940, in Sault Ste. Marie, to Homer and Evelyn (DeMerse) Bourque.

Rochelle was raised in Sault Ste. Marie and took great joy in being a devoted mother to her five sons: Richard, Kevin, Steve, Michael and David.

Rochelle was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Barbeau, Michigan.

Rochelle enjoyed reading books, doing word searches, cooking for her family, and camping.

Rochelle is survived by her sons, Richard (Debbie) Stain of Sault Ste. Marie, Kevin (Chari) McDonnald of Kincheloe, Michigan, Steve (Holly) McDonnald of Marquette, Michigan, Michael (Cynthia) Stain of Detroit, Michigan, David (Julie) Stain of Lansing, Michigan; many grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Diane Bourque of Florida.

Rochelle was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, Homer and Evelyn; and brother, Ron Bourque.

A Christian Mass will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 4585 E. 15 Mile Road, Barbeau, MI 49710, with burial to follow.

Rochelle’s final rest place will be at the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Barbeau, Michigan.
