Raymond “Ray” Patrick Woods, age 92, of DeTour Village, Michigan, passed away on April 5, 2026, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan. He was born August 25, 1933, in Sault Ste. Marie, at War Memorial Hospital to Marvin and Mildred (Clegg) Woods.

He will be remembered for his love of sports, hunting, deep devotion to his community, the DeTour Union Presbyterian Church, and for his unwavering love of his family.

Ray is survived by his children, Wayne (Teri) Woods, Allen (Lynn Fierek) Woods, Cindy (Tim) McKanic; daughter-in-law, Betty Jean Woods; grandchildren, Jeremy Woods, Danielle Woods, Dylan (Jenner) Woods, Lacy Woods, Amos (Carly) Woods, Kylie (Brian) Schwiderson, and Heather (Rick) Mehl; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Christian, Colton, Beau, Benji, Abel, Charlotte, Hadley, Cora, Ricky, Quentin, and Regen.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Fountain) Woods; parents, Marvin and Mildred Woods; son, Lewis Woods; son-in-law Tom Hawley; in-laws, Lewis and Leah Fountain; and special friend Barbara “Barb” Fisher.

Per his expressed wishes, there will be no services scheduled at this time.
