Randall Gene Desormeau, age 73, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on January 11, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Sault . He was born on December 16, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, to Francis and Ruth (McPherson) Desormeau.

Randy grew up in Sault Ste. Marie. After working as a painter for several years, he went on to become a taxidermist and eventually owned his own business, Northland Taxidermy. Through his work, Randy built a strong network of friends and earned widespread recognition for his exceptional talent, winning awards at the state, national, international, and world levels.
Randy had a deep passion for hunting and fishing, interests that naturally complemented his love for taxidermy.

Randy is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Brian Desormeau of Sault Ste. Marie and Brad (Christine) Desormeaux of Spokane, Washington; grandchildren, Brenden and Zoe Desormeau and Maddison and Luc Desormeaux, siblings, Lonny (Lori) Desormeau of Sault Ste. Marie, Cheryl (Jeff) Paquette of Sault Ste. Marie, and Melaine Wardel of Idaho; and sister-in-law, Joanie Desormeau of Idaho.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Ruth; and siblings, Rod (Renae) Desormeau, Scott Desormeau, and Joel Desormeau.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
