Philip “Phil” Vito Cardella, age 62, passed away on May 22, 2025, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Phil was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He was known for his quick wit, generous spirit, and deep
compassion. He had a way of making everyone around him feel seen, heard, and valued. To know Phil was to know someone who would truly “give you the shirt off his back.” Above all, family was the
cornerstone of his life.

Phil was a passionate fan of classic rock. He found joy in music and attended countless concerts over the years—each one a cherished memory. Phil was an outstanding cook, known for keeping treasured Italian family recipes alive and sharing them with loved ones, another way of always bringing family together around one table.

Phil is survived by his children, Dante Cardella, James Sherman, Tony Sherman, and Taylor Causley;
brother, Gary Dorosz; a loving grandchild, Jaedyn; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Phil was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Dorothy and Philip; and siblings, Dante, Martin, Jim,
and Anna.
