Obituary For Patricia Zoe Bennin
Patricia Zoe Bennin, age 80, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on May 8, 2025, at the Ball Hospice House, surrounded by her family.
Patricia was born on February 4, 1945, in Alma, Michigan, to George and Mabel (Vandemark) Miller. She grew up in Dafter, Michigan, and graduated from Sault Area High School with the class of 1963. She married Norbert on November 16, 1963
Patricia was a member of the Central United Methodist Church and was active with the memorial committee and many church functions.
Patricia was her husband Norberts partner in running the Bennin Cash Register company. She organized the chaos of owning a small business in your home. She demanded that Norbert always had the dinner table clear of machines so that she could serve her family a meal. Patricia loved to paint and had a hand in many arts and craft projects. She assisted others as well as developed many friends, through her employment at “Personal Touch” in downtown Sault Ste. Marie. She enjoyed baking a variety of desserts and the home always seemed to have a pan of chocolate covered rice krispy treats for devourment. Patricia enjoyed playing both the Piano and the Organ and both instruments were part of the household decor for many years.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Norbert; children, N. John (Janice) Bennin of Sault Ste. Marie, Kathy (Scott) Bennin-Williams of San Antonio, Texas, James (Michelle) Bennin of Sault Ste. Marie; grandchildren, Matt Bennin, Ashley Bennin, Brooke Bennin, Blair Bennin, Samantha Williams; great-grandchildren, Blake Willis, Colton Willis, and Sophia Emerson; and sister, Penny Collison of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mabel; grandson, Nicholas Bennin; siblings, Jacquiline Rose, Elbert “Jim” Noel Miller, and Frederick Ray Miller.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Central United Methodist Church, 111 E. Spruce St. Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM with a luncheon to follow.
Patricia’s final resting place will be the Pine Grove Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie.
Memorial Contributions in Patricia’s honor may be made to Ball Hospice House, 308 W 12th Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783 or Central United Methodist Church, 111 E. Spruce St., Sault Ste. Marie.
