Patricia Josephine “Patti” Mattson, age 68, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away on July 6, 2023, at the Hospice of the EUP – Hospice House.

Patti was born on March 22, 1955, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late Harold and Cecile (Camirand) Burgess.

She was a graduate of Sault High School with the class of 1973. On February 2, 1974, she married Bill Mattson at Nativity Catholic Church. Patti worked for many years for both Chippewa Federal Credit Union and Soo Co-op Credit Union. She retired from Sault Dental where she worked as the office manager. Patti enjoyed her grandchildren, camping, and traveling. She and her husband spent winters at Gulf Shores, Alabama as well as Texas. Patti had a love for all children and animals, especially her dog Rupert.

Patti is survived by her husband: William “Bill” Mattson: her children: Brian (Erica Stempky) Mattson of Sault Ste Marie, MI, and Shauntel (Doug) Rood of Standish, MI: grandchildren: Brendan, Kayla, Wyatt, and Mila; one great granddaughter: Kyleigh. Patti is also survived by her siblings: Paul (Jenny) Burgess of Dafter, MI and Margaret “Peggy" Lynn of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Father Romeo officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10: 00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial may be left to Hospice of the EUP- Hospice House.
