With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Thomas Kasper, beloved husband, son, brother, and friend. Mike passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at 57. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Kasper, beloved dog, Sheldon; mother, Merrial Kasper; brothers, Chester (Kathy) Kasper, Stanley (Valerie) Kasper, twin sister, Michelle (Steve) Kennedy; mother-in-law, Barbara Ogston; sisters-in-law, Donna (Scott) Chenard, Joy (Todd) Nelson; six nieces, twelve nephews, fourteen great nieces, six great nephews plus many cherished friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Kasper Jr., and his father-in-law, Donald Ogston.

Mike grew up in Cedarville, Michigan, and graduated from Cedarville High School. He worked with his father at Kasper Heating, eventually taking over the business upon his father’s retirement.

He served his community for thirty-one years as a volunteer for the Clark Township fire department and as an EMT on the ambulance corps. He also served his church as an altar boy and in the Knights of Columbus. Mike was Grand Knight for Council 7100.

He was awarded the 2023 Michigan Emergency Management Association President’s award and the 2024 Professional Emergency Manager of the Year.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, boating with Nancy and Sheldon, fishing, golfing, helping friends, playing music with his guitar, and working on cars. He also showed his love by feeding and caring for Nancy’s horses.
