Obituaries

Michael Joseph Sauro Jr., age 68, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on December 7, 2025, at
Medilodge of Sault Ste. Marie. He was born on February 16, 1957, in Sault Ste. Marie, to
Michael Sr. and Donna (Brown) Sauro.

Michael spent his life in his hometown, attending Sault Area Public Schools and building a
career marked by dedication and reliability. He worked in several roles over the years, beginning
at Kewadin Casino as a security guard and later serving as a surveillance officer until his
retirement in 2023.

He was a proud member of the Christopher Columbus Society.

Michael will be remembered for the things he loved most, the excitement of gambling, peaceful
days spent golfing, collecting treasured items, and most of all, the time he shared with his family.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Matt) Molnar; granddaughter, Alexandra Steffes;
great-granddaughter, Paisley Lawrence; siblings, Pam Sauro, Steve (Linda Moan) Sauro, Lori
Sauro, and Sandy (Jimmy Kosiewicz) Sauro; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews,
aunts, uncles, and cousins; life-long friends, Sam and Nick Mourusaf and Kim Gordon.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Donna.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 12, 2025, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Family Life
Funeral Homes, 4951 S. M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. The Funeral Service will follow
immediately beginning at 2:00 PM.
Michael’s final resting place will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Brimley, Michigan.

Michael will be deeply cherished by his family and friends.
