Obituaries

Mary “Liz” Elizabeth Tremblay, age 72, of Brimley, Michigan passed away peacefully at her home on August 25th, 2023. She was born December 2nd, 1950, in Lansing, Michigan to Raoul Jean Tremblay and Mary Janice Tremblay (Dawson).

Liz grew up in Lansing and later moved to Sault. Ste. Marie, MI. Where she would later open her doors to foster children for 7+ years while raising her two sons. Liz would soon meet the love of her life and marry her husband Thomas, where she would take on five more boys and help to love and raise them as her own. After working at K-Mart for eleven years, Mary also worked for North Shore Market, and Brim-Core gas station. After that she went on to be a cook for Brimley Head start in the early 2000’s and was there for most of her 26 grandchildren through the years. She retired in 2016.

Liz will be remembered as someone who enjoyed Yahtzee, Skip-Bo, Uno, bowling, and softball. She was recognized for being a seamstress and an Avon Representative. But most importantly, Liz will forever be remembered by her enormous heart, beautiful smile and her quick-witted sense of humor. She was generous, loyal and brave till the end. Liz left an impact on many people and will forever be missed.

Liz is survived by her children: Frank (Tracy) Gordon of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Jimmy Gordon of Brimley, Michigan and her five step sons: Tommy (Haley) Tremblay of Lansing, Michigan, Robert (Amber)Tremblay Brimley, Michigan, Michael (Katia) Tremblay of Brimley, Michigan, Jason (Natalie) Tremblay of Pensacola, Florida, Brian (Jordan) Tremblay of Brimley, Michigan; Her siblings: Pat Tremblay of Lansing, Michigan, Carol Miller of Missouri, Anna Tremblay of Missouri and 26 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Liz is predeceased in death by her parents Raoul and Marry, husband Thomas, her siblings Raoul “Butch” Tremblay, Raymond Halme, Mike Tremblay, David Tremblay, Billy Tremblay, Diane Hartman.
