Obituary For Marceline Yvonne Waggoner
Marceline “Marcie” Yvonne (Gagnon) Waggoner, age 92, of Cedarville, Michigan, died on Monday, December 15, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 30, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, to Clifford and Alice (DesJardin) Gagnon.
Marcie grew up in Cedarville and graduated from Cedarville High School with the Class of 1951. She met Jerry Waggoner following his honorable discharge from the United States Army when he came to Cedarville to visit his family’s cabin. The two were united in marriage on September 3, 1951, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel, Michigan. The couple moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, where they began their family and lovingly raised five children. Marcie was a devoted and nurturing mother who put her family first, creating a home filled with love, guidance, and strong values. In 1982, they returned to Cedarville to the family’s cabin, still cherished and remaining in the family and continued to be a special gathering place.
Marcie was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel.
Marcie loved sewing and knitting and was especially known for the beautiful baby blankets she lovingly made for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured time spent with her family, and her kitchen table was a place of comfort and gathering where stories were shared, laughter was abundant, and everyone felt welcome. She always had a warm cup of the best coffee waiting and cookies in her cookie jar. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends, bird watching, and flowers.
Marcie is survived by her sons, Bruce (Dana) Waggoner of Brimley, Michigan, Steve (Tami) Waggoner of Cedarville and Tim (Becky) Waggoner of Fairbanks, Alaska; daughters, Michelle (Brian) Kenny and JeriLynn Waggoner both of Cedarville; grandchildren, Alyssa Pulice, Joe Waggoner, Ashly Young, Jon Waggoner, Don Waggoner, Audrey Waggoner, Lauren Waggoner, Byron Mason, Dustin Mason, Marcie Moline, Michael Kenny, Megan Bouwens, Bruce Ramsey and Bryan Ramsey; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Marcie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; parents, Clifford and Alice; and mother-in-law, Mildred Waggoner.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 261 S. Islandview Rd., Hessel, MI 49745. The Memorial Mass will follow immediately at 11:00 AM.
A graveside service, followed by a Celebration of Life, will take place in late July 2026. Further details will be shared at a later time.
Marcie’s final resting place will be at Cedar Cemetery in Cedarville, Michigan.
