Obituary For Lynn David Fountain

Lynn David Fountain, known fondly as "Chief", aged 79, passed away on April 20, 2024, in Wilmington, NC. He was born on March 21, 1945, in De Tour Village, MI, Chief led a life filled with dedication, honor, and service.

Chief served his country as a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he was employed at Bethlehem Steel and ultimately retired from the Battleship North Carolina, where he worked maintenance. His commitment to hard work and excellence was reflected in everything he did.

In his free time, Chief found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid fan of spending time at Carolina Beach and enjoyed the tranquility of freshwater fishing. These moments of peace brought him much happiness and relaxation throughout his life.

Chief is survived by his loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Edwin A. Fountain; mother, Cora E. Fountain; and sister, Lillian D. Fountain. Cherishing his memory are his son, Chad D. Fountain (Vicki); daughter, Michelle M. Robinson (Scott); granddaughters, Lindsey M. Jackson (William) and Elizabeth S. Robinson; brother, Edwin A. Fountain (Jean); nieces, Renee Price (Jeff) and Stephanie Nelson (Charles).

A private celebration of Chief's life will be held later in the Summer of 2024.

His legacy of dedication and kindness will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
